    vista cd

Hi guys I was just wondering if I can make a vista cd from my hp vista recovery cd. I do not want the trial software that is preloaded onto the cd like norton, aol, office ect ect. I just want the OS by itself. I know I did this with xp and intergrated it with SP2 or I can make a XPPE using bartpe and the i386 folder. and help will be greatly appreciated.

I think what you are asking is not a legal use of the HP OEM Windows license. I think you are stuck. .

What do you mean "not legal" I bought the computer and the OS came with the computer so I own it all I want to do to it is get the trial programs out of it. what not legal about that?

First off it is a DVD.

Second: does the Recovery Option offer you choices?

Generally during a "Clean" or "Destructive" Install you are offered all of the options.

In XP you could use a slipstream to ferret out the weeds.

    Examples here:

Do not know if this would work on a Vista disk or not.

But the options should be out there.

Even if you need to "Clean" install the HP disk you can delete these "Add-ons".

My last motherboard came with Norton and I was like "NO WAY"!

I just followed the install closely and removed Norton from installing.

That's not what you asked. You said,
I was just wondering if I can make a vista cd from my hp vista recovery cd.
That's different. And what I mean is when PC makers make an "agreement" (contract) with Microsoft for these Windows licenses, the agreement is that it will be done so in the form of a recovery CD (or DVD for Vista).

I agree with jephree - you might be able to make a slipstream disk - I suggest you enter: slipstream Vista into Google for more information. One interesting hit I got was this - see his "Fourth" "ramification".

BTW, have you gone through the Control Panel's Add and Remove Programs list to remove a bunch of the junk?
