Question stop something uninstalling on start up...

    Hi there

Some time ago I must have wanted to uninstall something but cant recall what it is on my main computer. it doesnt get used a lot.

Now when I start up Windows Home Edition and log in.

    The following things happen:

1 - Please wait while windows configures unload.
2 - The feature you are trying to use is on a CD ROM

AT THIS POINT I PRESS CANCEL AS I DONTKNOW WHAT IT IS THATS TRYING TO UNINSTALL AND IF I HAD THE DISK FR THE THING I THINK I WOULD HAVE DONE THE UNISTALL PROPERLY AT THE TIME

3 - Then Error 1706 comes up saying no valid source could be found for product unload. The windows instaler cannot continue.

So thats the extent of the problem ... I have to keep cancelling it down till it all goes away.

How do i stop this from happening at all! At start up.

    Any suggestions would be brill.

    Many thanks in advance

    Yummy

Try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Do you recognize most of the list? If you have Office there will be a lot of Office entries.

Anything that is totally alien? Can you copy/paste the list?

Please wait while windows configures unload
Are you sure, it says "unload"?
