Blue Screen Crash?
Hey I have a problem with a Dell computer with Windows Vista. Suddenly today it crashed to a blue screen:
'A problem has been detected....
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is indentified in the stop message (what stop message?!) Disable the driver or check for updates. Try changing video adapters
Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS options such as caching or shadowing'
Something about pressing F8 at start up and prevent caching and shadowing but I don't know how to do that.
And 'collecting data for crash dump...initialising disk for crash dump'
'***STOP:OX00000007E (OXC0000005, OX81C90722 OX98FC2A68 OC98FCR764)
This now happens whenever I try to log on. It logs on for about 5 seconds then goes back to the blue screen.
Do you have any ideas what the problem is and whether I can do anything about it? Thanks very much!

Restart.
Press, and hold F8 key. Several options will be displayed.
Try first "Last Known Good Configuration".
If that doesn't work, try "Safe Mode", and see if it'll boot into it.

Yeah I just tried that actually and it works now. Thanks for the advice anyway!

Hi jproud
I'm just wondering what Vista is your OS and how much Ram are you running Vista on ? because you have had BSOD and there will be a reason for this "prevention is better than a cure"
