Ok first I did a search on this and found another post from willow with the same problem but no one answered them so i hope someone will help me!!!
First of all this is a friends laptop and it is the first time I am trying to fix something in Vista asnd am hoping that it goes smoother than it seems to be going so far. Like I said when I start Vista it loads everything ok it seems but then it says Explorer cannot start and keeps trying to restart it and like willow said I went to Vistas site and found the problem and did what it says It says in the cmd box that it cannot find a volume name on drive C and at this point I do not no what to do.
My thought is to say screw Vista and just install a clean version of XP on it and wait a year or so when they have all the bugs worked out on Vista. But any help would be much apreciated.

If Willow had posted in the HijackThis section she(he) would have received a reply. HijackThis logs are not to be posted outside of that section as only our Professional readers are capable of interpreting these logs.

I would suggest trying that route to start with. If they give you an all clear then come back here and we can look further.

Also questions like: Is this a new problem? Was it always like this? Any new hardware or software? Is the computer still under warranty? Who is the manufacturer? etc.
