    AVG anti virus in Vista

I have the free version of AVG installed, which I also had on my old XP as well.I now get a window "Interactive Services dialogue detection" and when opened it says "program cannot display a message on your desktop".It then says "Show me message" ,which says I am fully protected and updates are in order. After exiting this,it keeps popping up with the same thing.
Is this peculiar to Vista?and how can I get rid of it?

Have you installed all the updates?

This issue has been posted regarding AVG's updater and Vista.

If you install the latest updates do you still get the error?

Many other people reporting the same issue suggest using Avast with Vista.

    In my opinion yes.

It also works on 64 bit systems which AVG Free does not plus it automatically updates.

It also tells you when it updates which might scare you at first as there is a voice that says: "Virus data base has been updated".
