Bootmgr compressed
I recently installed vista and now I finally got it how I like it and I decided to compress all my drives to save space apparently the bootmgr is compressed and Vista no longer loads.
it just says BOOTMGR COMPRESSED
Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.
I've tried
expand bootmgr temp
attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h
and it does nothing.
I still get the same message I don't want to reinstall vista.

What exactly happens when you try the above commands?
Do you get confirmation line by line?
That is the generally posted solution to your error.

no confirmation what so ever I decided to reinstall vista now I'm getting blue screens with IRQ1 not equal or less than or something.
It never did that before with my first installation I did but could it have anything to do with me trying to reinstall all the other programs I had previously like aim and download managers and avg and zonealarm
When I installed ZoneAlarm it crashed for the first time in the second install of Vista but when I did the first install of Vista I had a zonealarm installation running along with music firefox a few windows open like my documents and some of my old songs and such from my previous XP installation that I backed up should I reinstall Vista and do everything step by step like I did last time?
I think it may have something to do with Windows Media Player 11? Last time I installed Urge this time I didn't and last time I let the sharing thing start this time I did too but I shut it off.

The IRQ1 is a driver error.
I would suggest reinstalling Vista (Clean) and then the motherboard drivers and nothing else.
See if you can use IE. If yes then load AVG.
After which I would install one program at a time taking time between to reboot and confirm that you get no errors.
I would not load AIM or Zone Alarm until you can verify that you have a stable system. Also no download managers. And no files from old XP.
In other words: See if Vista will run in its most basic state. Apart from AVG to protect while using IE do not load any other software till this works trouble free for a prolonged period.
This should be a Clean install of Vista as opposed to a Repair (upgrade).

I think it's Windows Media Player because I haven't opened it and it hasn't crashed yet (knock on wood) but now I'm getting this error when I try to install ZoneAlarm
You do have access to make the required system modifications. Please rerun this installation from an administrators account.
But I am and Admin.

Is it possible it still thinks ZA is still on my computer because it did crash and then I went into safe mode and removed it.

I am sure it left something in the Registry but I am unsure how this would affect a new install yet of course it could.
When I uninstall software I always clean the registry.
But again the Administrator rights is a very common Vista issue unrelated to specific programs as seen here:
