What is the make and model of the computer?

The symptom is an indication of a hardware incompatibility in general.

Do you know the computer brand name and model or the motherboard make and model?

What told you to uninstall Nero?

Did the upgrade CD come with the computer?

Is it like a Dell or some brand or did you build it yourself?

There are no Vista drivers for that motherboard which raises compatibility questions.

There is a recent BIOS update: P5S800-VM latest beta BIOS 1023.003 2007/05/29 update

Also the Graphics card is an important variable.
