    Limit on installation size?

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, as it is a problem with a computer game but possibly caused by Vista.

I am attempting to install a computer game onto my computer (specifically 'Baldur's Gate'), and doing so requires 2367 MB of space on the Hard Drive. The first time I installed it, a message was displayed saying that only 2047 MB of space is avalible on the drive. Having checked the drive (which has 23.8 GB of space on it) I know this to be nonsense, so carried on. The game installed fine, but later on I discovered at least one file was missing from the installation. I uninstalled it, unfortunately before checking the size of the game installation (which I bet was exactly 2047 MB), and then started to reinstall it.

Once again I got the same message, and once again I checked the drive. As an experiment, I told it to install to a different drive, one that I know to be twice the size of the first, yet I was still told the avalible space was 2047 MB. This suggests to me that there is a limit somewhere on the maximum size of an installation, but a quick search failed to find any way to remove it. I am the only user of the computer, and so user max space controls appear to be inactive. Am I right in my suspician, and if so how do I remove the control? (reducing the games install size is not an option)

Edit: Word from elsewhere indicates the problem may be the game and not vista. However I am still intrigued as to whether such an occurance is possible.
