    System Restore

I tried earlier today to do a system restore (twice actually) and on both occasions the restore was not done. On both occasions I used restore points made by the system. What could the problem be?

Why are you trying to restore.

The problem and this symptom might very well be linked.

    Hi Jephree
I downloaded some wallpapers that refused to be deleted. I first tried the system restore which didn't work and after that I downloaded a trial program called Your Uninstaller which removed the problem. I just wanted to know if System Restore doesn't work every time and why it doesn't.

You can "reset" System Restore by turning it off then back on.

This will remove all previous Restore points but should "reset" System Restore for the future.

Wallpapers and screen savers are notoriously troublesome downloads. Some may be intentionally set in such a way as not to be deletable. This may have affected System Restore.

You can turn off/on System Restore via right clicking My Computer then click Properties and then System Restore.
