cpu shutsdown
I've been having this new problem recently, once in a while my laptop would shutdown for no reason. Once I turn it on again the time and date are wrong and it would have difficulty connecting with msn messenger. I thought it got some type of a virus so I did all types of virus checks and spyware and adware checks but it's clean. Is this happening with a lot of Vista systems?
Specs:
Processor: Intel Core 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00 GHz
Memory: 1022MB ram
graphics: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 256mb

I would seriously consider returning this laptop to its' source as it must be under warranty.
You should not have such issues and they tend to indicate motherboard problems.
This along with your headphones issue included.

Yeah I guess I should, its just that I'm very far away (needed the laptop for this reason), so you think its a motherboard problem?

If it cannot hold the time and date the most likely issue is the motherboard battery. This is a BIOS (motherboard) issue outside of Windows (Vista).
On a new computer this is a sign of something very unusual (along with your audio jack).
You can go into your BIOS Setup and check the time there and also see if there is a section that specifies your onboard hardware such as the audio jack.
