When I installed my printer software Hp, My disk drives disappeared from my
"disk drives storage area. They are still showing in my device manager but have a (!) next to them. Please help me! Thanks, Sonny

Error 39 is often associated with software placing filters in the registry.

Before trying to edit the registry what happens when you right click the yellow ! lines and choose to update drivers?



Link to MS site for #39 error on XP and although it specifies removable disk drives it also appears to be relevant to your issues. I am not sure if the registry locations have changed in Vista. Also back up your registry before trying any changes.
