Question Can Win XP be installed if we hv Vista Preinstalled

    HI

i have a SONY Vaio with 1.66ghz, 1gb ram, 120 gb hard disk with 2 partitions
    and Windows Vista Home Premium.

I just think tht if i hv windows XP then my system will be much faster then it is and my External Bluetooth(software) is not supported in Vista.

Thats why i wish to have both the OS installed just like if we have Windows 2000 and XP installed and we had a choice at the start up for which OS to load.

I hope i make sense about wat i am asking

    Thank you

If you have an independent and never used version of XP then yes.

There are many variables of how to set it up. Reading some of the following may help:

    http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...+boot+vista+xp

I will point out that after installing XP you will need to Repair install Vista as XP will re-write the Boot sector. In general you install the older OS first to avoid this.

Please read some of the above links and ask if you have further questions.

Yes i do hv XP & i think i hv to install it from the bootup(DOS) only.
But i think i have to make Recovery DVD's prior to installing XP

Even with both installed there is no "carry over".

You will have to install all the programs you want on each OS.

XP is not going to run programs on Vista nor visa versa. You will have two separate Operating Systems.

Whether or not Adobe software runs better on XP than Vista I do not know but HERE are some more links on the subject.

you can install more than 1 os on a computer my m8 has 5 so you can install xp onto vista if you select install as well asvista or something like that you should have both on your laptop
    hope this helps.
