Angry Buying a New Computer - HELP

I am trying to purchase a new computer. I DON'T WANT WINDOWS VISTA. I want Windows XP but every retail and online store (I tried Dell and HP) I go to won't give me the option. Does anyone have any advice on getting these people to give me what I want instead of what they want

The problem is, no computer manufacturer is shipping computers with XP anymoe. All new stuff are Vista. Part of if could be because of their agreement with Microsoft which is pushing hard for Vista. The only option that I can think of is to buy a legal copy of XP that has not been used and go that way.

you could try www.dabs.com i think they still sell xp computers....

Your best bet is probably purchasing a copy of XP and building your own computer, if you chose this option, we will guide you through the process and answer any questions you have and help you resolve any of your problems

alternatively, you could try and get hold of a second hand computer (local adverts/ebay)

Hope this has helped, let us know if you require further assistance and we will be happy to help you

Hi, I have been looking for the same, and I have found 2 companies that you can order online from Evesham Technology, or Powerc, and you can specify which XP or Vista OS you want on most of their computers, by just clicking on the configure button next to the Computer that interests you. There are other things you can adapt too, if theres a price difference, it says next to the changes item.

    Good Luck with your search.

Dell announced today that it is returning to the XP option.

There's back and forth on whether Vista is selling poorly or well, but if recent announcements from Dell are anything to go by, the buzz is on other operating systems.

In its announcement yesterday that it is bringing XP back as an option for people buying select new Inspiron laptops and Dimension desktops, Dell said it heard its customers "loud and clear."
