installed vista home premium on my sony viao laptop, now i cant play cds and it doesnt read memory cards that i put in, the cd drive icon doesnt even appear? anyone help me out please??????????

i'm not using vista yet, and don't really know much so bare with me here eh?

i did a short search and found another guy with similar issues. it werent fixed but was suggested that maybe installing newer firmwares for your drive might help.

whats firmwares mean ????

to be technical, it's the software embedded into your hardware device.

to put it simply? they're drivers for your hardware. maybe you can post your Vaio laptop's model name and i can try and see if i can find them for you.

keep in mind Vista's new so very very bug prone. and i'm not using Vista yet.
