When I installed vista ultimate on my laptop it spent about 5-10 minutes copying files from the CD to the HDD. However when I tried to install it on my desktop computer it spent a fraction of a second copying the files and then went straight to expanding the files. It then continues with the installation but when reboots it refuses to boot into the "Vista is starting for the first time" and leaves me hanging.

I know vista works on my desktop as I had Business-N running on it, but due to its limitations I decided to go for a nice clean install of Ultimate. However this problem is really confusing me and I am about ready to give up.

If anyone could shed some light on how I could solve this, I would be really happy.
