hi.i recently bought a new laptop with windows vista... i downloaded windows live messenger and keeps shutting down on start up with a DEP message..ok.. was told to download messenger 7.5 , now messenger start but windows explorer shuts down... dont see any icons on the desktop no start menu and no taskbar.. all i see is messenger 7.5. HELP!!!

Try a System Restore from Safe Mode to a point prior to these downloads.

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Or Run... from Task Manager or command prompt:

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
