    AVG Resident Shield

Under Vista Business (can't say about other versions), the AVG resident shield does not operate.

Grisoft appear to be aware of the problem, bu so far no soluion.

Uninstalled AVG, and installed the latest build. Different message, and behaviour.

On power up a warning box with "Could not initialize AVG Anti-Virus kernal interface. Application cannot run".

I click OK on the box.

Bring up AVG, and it has an orange ticked box top right. Usually green (everything up to date) or red (not up to date). Click on Control Center, and after the Control Center loads, the orange tick box changes to green.

So, a manual start seems to work.

Have you checked the AVG boards if others also received the same error with Vista Business?

Fortunately my AV software on both Vista Home Premium and Ultimate is working well.

Avg is actually the main AV that's promoted by MS as Vista compliant: http://securityblog.itproportal.com/?p=561

    Thanks Kazna3,

The Grisoft AVG forum is showing that it's a known problem, and the fix is due soon (build 441).
