Vista Compatibility?

Vista Compatibility?
now i've heard alot of people boasting that their current system specs can run Vista. but recently i read in my local paper that alot of those products with the logo "Vista Compatible" is actually quite misleading. i'm hoping that someone here can give me their view on my system spec.
i'm currently running on a
3.0GHZ HT Intel processor, forgot it's exact name. single core
2x256mb DDR 333 Ram, hopefully upgrading by end of this year to 1GB.
1x7300GS Nvidia
Intel D101GGc motherboard.
1x80GB ATA HDD
1x200GB SATA HDD.
hope i didn't leave out any important part.
and oh yeah.. is it recommendable to switch to Vista that soon? kinda worried about it's stability.
thanks in advance

you don't have to switch to Vista, if XP is running OK
I run a beta version of Vista I've got 1.75GHZ chip, 256MB graphics, 768 RAM
Vista seems OK but XP is running OK

Here is Microsoft's on-line Upgrade Advisor which will scan your hardware but yours' looks fine:

you're running on a beta? any huge improvements or something? other than looking pretty damn fine with the oh-so-cool black skin of course. lol.

Yes please
But I'll have to read into it to see what changes and effects it makes to XP. Do you like it?
Can yu summarize a little of what it does?
Thanks.
