who's tried Vista, I tried to order the DVD but had problems, (it didn't like my address) I may end up leaving the PC on all night as its about a 9 hour download

I have a spare hard drive to fit into the machine to boot from will that be OK?

Your plan is exactly what I did. I used an old slave hard drive to totally dedicate to Vista as I didn't want any possible corruption into my XP.

My XP is on a SATA and I have Vista on the ATA Primary slave.

I use my BIOS as a boot menu.

It took me less than 2 hours to download.

downloaded it this afternoon took about 2.5 hours installed it, now having a look and play around

so far seems very intresting lots of little tools and toys to play with
