Have problems printing - always seem to get this message.

Have Dell laptop and Hp computer linked through internet provider router - home network. Dell runs Vista Home Premium, Computer runs Windows 7. Whilst I have no problem with using files on and between each there is an issue with printing.
Printers are both linked and manually attached but this message keeps appearing - please help. 'The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable'.

Incompatible printer drivers may create such issues (V > W7 and W7 > V). Does each local printer have a corresponding driver in the other OS?:

Windows 7 Compatibility: Software Programs & Hardware Devices: Find Updates, Drivers, & Downloads

Drivers for both printers are installed on both OS's. The problem seems intermittent as today both are printing!! Thanks for your help - I hope this continues to be the case!
