Hi I'm having a problem with all internet downloads or trying to just open the internet. It tries to open through windows media player
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. is the error I get.
I have tried to do a system restore, also tried to see if the file type was somehow changed. Not at all sure what I'm doing
Any help would be greatly appreciated....Thank You in advance

windows firewall off

I see that my internet explorer file type ( in properties) is set as windows media player (.exe).
Would explain why media player tries to open internet.
Any idea how to reset it to the correct file type and what that file type is ??
