My Dell XPS 16 notebook came with a prepaid 15-month license for McAfee Security Center and it only has 2 days left. I'd like to remove it before it expires in hopes of avoiding any unforeseen problems with expiration, but I've seen comments of users not being able to boot their computers after removal.

I looked all over the Dell website and didn't see any instructions regarding McAfee removal from Windows 7, but I did come across an old post (Windows XP) about making sure to remove it using the Start Menu as opposed to the Add/Remove Programs module.

So, is there a "right" way to remove McAfee Security Center, as I don't see any removal options from the Start Menu?
