Is there a specific area where I can get answers to event log entries. One for instance says my printer is not shared with others on my network when in fact it is.Under network and printer sharing it is checked. TIA
here's the event log entry:
"The print spooler failed to share printer HP Officejet J6400 series with shared resource name HP Officejet J6400 series. Error 2114. The printer cannot be used by others on the network."
The other is:
"Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected."
Are you seeing these entries via the Event Viewer under Administrator Tools in Control Panel?
Note this is often caused by a firewall setting.
How is this printer connected? Can other printers print? Not it is generally much better, in terms of use and for security to attach the computer to your network with a print server, rather than attach it to a computer then share it.
By USB to what? The PC? The better solution would be to connect the printer to your router. The printer is connected via usb.
