My win 7 has gone insane over the last 48hrs. I'm about to load handgrenade.exe ( not a real program but i wish it was at this point :cry: ) I've managed to regain some functionality after numerous scans and a system restore but the core issues persist so i figure I've got about a day to sort it out. Scans all come up clean now. Mawarebytes, Kaspersky Virus removal, MSE, Spybot but I can't uninstall several programs (can't create temp files, access denied error). I tried with Windows, CCleaner, Glarys Utilites. I can uninstall in safe mode though. MSE is barely working. I have to backdoor the program to run scans with it. MMC snap ins are crashing. Links to troubleshooters and some services don't do anything when I click them. Programs wont open and some that do crash instantly. Ther's probaably more but I've been awake for so long I'm starting to glitch! Should i just reformat because I'm not getting to the heart of the issues or have i missed some simple solution even though I've been scouring the net continuously for 2 days? I was about to reformat but just thought I'd try to get advice first because because It's gonna be a massive effort to reinstall everything.

It certainly seems you still may have a virus problem despite all the scans.

So before we start trying to locate what other problems are causing this.
I would suggest you post here Spyware, Adware, Viruses and Malware Removal
and read and follow the advice in the sticky's before we go any further.

Thanks for that. I probably do still have it. I thought i'd gotten it and was just dealing with all the mischief it caused but i'll switch to the malware thread as per your advice.
