How to uninstall a "phantom" program
I want to uninstall DivX Plus media player but it doesn't show up on the Windows Programs list nor does it appear in the programs list of Revo Uninstaller. It has been installed in the Program Data>DivX folder. Can I just delete DivX file?

How do I uninstall DivX Plus software? | DivX.com
So if you can't find it in Programs and features and Revo cannot see it are you sure
its installed ie can you run the program.
If it is still installed I would suggest you contact their support and ask them for advice.
Because just deleting the folders will not remove the program.
Doing it manually involves editing the registry.
A task that needs care and experience.
So my advice is contact support before going any further.

Thanks for the advice, Jim23. The program does run and I've located the file in the Program Data folder. I deleted the entire DivX folder, then I searched for any "DivX" files and deleted them, then I used Wise Registry Cleaner to find all DivX entries and cleaned them out. Everything seems to run fine so I don't think I blew up anything (!).

Hi weybrew
There will undoubtedly be some remnants on your PC. You'd be surprised were media players put folders and files.
The Reg Cleaner will have removed most of the references to DivX Plus and will most likely have made a reg back up before removal.
So if this is causing no problems to media files or functions on your PC then I see no cause for concern.
I'm pleased to see you got it sorted
Don't hesitate to post back if you need any further help

Thanks again, Jim23. I would have marked the thread closed but I couldn't find the way...
