Microsoft Office 2010 Gives Error 1935 when installing on Windows 7 64-bit
So, here's the problem: I have a copy of Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit and both Office 2007 and 2010. I got fed up with Office 2007 and uninstalled it and went to OpenOffice. I recently decided to give Office 2010 a try and see how it turned out and downloaded it. I uninstalled OpenOffice too to be safe and went to install it and it gives me this error when its almost done installing:
Error 1935: An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {89EDD3A9-994B-3257-8484-D6EB6A00DDF5}. HRESULT 0x80070003.
I've spent hours over the past couple days trying to solve the solution myself searching many sites and forums via google and microsoft's web page to no avail. It's gotten to the point where I'm sick of trying to fix it myself and decided I'd bring it to some people who might be more knowledagable about these things than me so I decided to come here. Now, I can tell you so far what the problem is NOT:
The problem does not lie with Microsoft .NET Framework. Almost every other response to this problem I've seen mentions .NET Framework as a cuplrit. I can tell you that I have uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft .NET Framework so many times I'm sick of it. I've ran sfc /scannow multiple times and it never comes up with any problems if the problem IS with the framework I don't know how to fix it.
The problem does not lie with a lingering install of an old version of Office. I downloaded a fixit tool from Microsoft's web site and ran it so I know that I've cleanly uninstalled Office.
The problem does not lie with Microsoft Security Essentials or any other AV program as I've restarted Windows 7 with a clean boot to make sure nothing other than basic Windows features were loaded in the background.
I'm really besides myself as to how to fix this. I tried going back to install 2007 and it too gave me that error. What could be the problem here?

Those links were useless.
Did you read my post where I said that there's no problems with my microsoft .net framework and I'd already scanned for errors and uninstalled and reinstalled .net 4.0 multiple times? I'm guessing you didn't since you posted link #1. Not to mention the fact that link doesn'ts seem to be related to Windows 7 64-bit at all since .net framework 2.0 is included and thus can't be repaired from programs and features, though like I said I tried it with 4.0 and it checked out. And the registry cleaner that the site links to requires a payment to be able to work beyond an initial scan so that's useless.
Also link #2 is sorta useless because it gives me a message that there are no products affected by this package installed on this system when I try to install the update. How can I install an update for a program I don't have installed?
Try again

I am reaching for straws, just as you are. If you have tried all those options, then I have nothing more to offer. Sorry.

I fixed it finally. I was finally able to do a repair install of Windows 7 (I realized I needed to do a clean startup in order for it to work properl) and after like half a day of running the install, when I booted back and installed Office it worked.

Great! I am glad you got it sorted out. And thanks for the followup post.
