    corrupt file

On Sept. 14 I had a pop up on my screen and it was the exact same that pops up when I turn the computer on to allow my Cyberspace program to work. I pressed OK and the computer shut down. I have tried everything - can't even restore the computer to an earlier time, get to safe mode to do a virus check, etc.
    This is what came up:
Boot critical file D:\CIdII is corrupt (not sure if CId should be ii or II or 11) PROBLEM: Signature 07
The computer has no memory problem.
If I have to use the DVD's I had made to recover the computer, how can I be sure the virus is gone?

Please go to our Spyware, Adware, Viruses and Malware Removal forum. Read the first sticky Read This First - IMPORTANT Instructions (updated 6/9/2011) and follow the directions it provides.

Do it from another computer (the one you are posting from). Download files as required and put them on a flash drive or CD to use on the infected computer. Then post results by copying back to a flash drive or CD then posting from a working computer.
