HP mini laptop with Windows 7 starter
My laptop is basically adequate for my computing needs. However, one of the things I like most to do online is to play games at Agame.com, qplay, com and gamesgames.com. With this laptop and flash player 10.3, it doesn't matter what browser I use. I have been going back and forth between Firefox and Chrome and, either way, it is so slow as to be ridiculous. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Sadly, even most laptops are not particularly well suited to gaming - never mind a netbook.
Most laptop/netbook components do not not have speed as their main focus but are moreso and particularly design compromised to minimize heat issues. That means that your CPU and graphics subsystem are not typically going to have the performance characteristics that you would ideally be seeking for gaming.
Check out the 'experience index' for the above components and you will find that they are often around or less than 3.0 (Start>'Search programs and files' BOX) whereas a gaming box will have most reported index measurements at 5.0 or better (particularly for graphics).
