My Acer laptop is not charging. Is there a way I can check the battery or see if something else is wrong?

Not really. Batteries and power supplies must be tested under load, and most users are not able to do that. So it would probably be best to take it to a shop. If you have a multimeter, you can see if you have voltage, but again, unless under a proper load, it would not be conclusive.
