Angry My brand-new CD won't register on my Inspiron

I had just bought starcraft II, Wings of Liberty and tried to install it on my Dell Inspiron 1545 which has Intel Core Duo and Windows 7 attached to it, along with the other criteria for the game to be installed. However, when I put the disc in it only makes a strange repeating 3-beep sound and in the Computer file the cd icon says that there is no cd in at all. I tried restarting my computer and the problem continued to happen. Please help me!

    Hi Dr Duke and welcome.

So far, of the 3 sites I looked at that sells that game on disk, the game comes on a DVD, not CD. Do you have a DVD player, or CD?

my bad, you're right, but it still doesn't process the game

And does it recognize other DVD disks?

nope, Avatar for DVD didn't work on it. So should I infer now that this is a computer-based issue? if so would you know of any preferences that i could go to to make it work, otherwise i may have to resort to getting it fixed or finding a different slower computer to use it on
