RAM Memory Critically High Error Messages - IDE/SATA hard disk

What a way to start the day. The laptop picked up a virus overnight. I tried everything I knew from 9:30am to 3pm to fix the problem.
System error: Ram usage is critically high - system hard drive error; IDE/SATA hard disk please close and system would repeat over and over shutting down and restarting.
I knew that meant something large was trying to open at same time Operating System was trying to boot up and causing error of no space left on hard drive. I also had copied some large photos of Beyonce onto the hard drive and forgot to remove them. This also could have been part of the problem. Images are extremly large and take up lots of space and can interfer with start up.RAM memory is like blowing air into a balloon and letting it out to save space.
Next I went to system restore(from system images) to return system back to an earlier date when their were no errors. I did notice that someone had installed weatherbug. This is a nice program that sends weather alerts, just like the weather radio. So
I next tried restoring back before installation and continued to get the same error messages.
Next I went to weatherbug program and at top of page, I clicked on Preference and connection and removed open upon startup. Restore still did not work. Then I went to programs and completely unistalled weatherbug and tried restore again. Still did not work.
Then I went to restore copy data files from old restore point.
Then I went to update any installed latest revision of Toshiba that had been waiting to install for some time and I never had selected update to install.
By now I was feed up and didn't have any more ideas. I tried restore one more time back to the earliest restore date the system would allow, and finally got message that system restore had fully completed and error messages were gone and desk top was restored back.
I don't know exactly what the fix was, but this is what I did to fix the problem.
I hope this helps anyone else that may be having similar problem and need to save some cash.
Operating system (OS) is windows 7
