Ok so my wife was using the computer one day when she shut it down and tried to power it back up the PC wouldn't boot at all even to safe mode it would go to the windows loading screen and sit there. Now my attempts to repair or reinstall windows 7 have been useless anytime I tried either one it tells me that there is an error with a recently installed device now I don't know how.to correct it since I can't get past the loading screen! If someone could help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it!

Retried to repair windows using the installation disk and the error I got said it was caused due to external media now I do not have anything connected to my computer mind you this is a laptop as well and I can't figure it out

i have rebooted my computer and everything wok good until the next day i turn it on and it is stuck on "setup is starting services" and a pop-up comes up saying "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an inexpected error. Windows installation cannot procceed. To install, click "ok" to restart computer, and then restart installation" i did that and it goes back to the same thing i have hit F8 and tried each category but none of them works please help!

Have you tried the obvious like restoring to a previous point?

It sound like you got a corrupt windows file most likely from a update.
If you have another PC you could take your harddrive out the laptop and try it in another computer? at least then you can salvage all important data off it.

Let me know what you get up to, I will see if I can find some more on this.
