    Question Admin rights?

Why does windows 7 keep telling me i need admin rights to do certain things when my account is the only account and is administrator?

Usually, I can just click continue anyway through the pop up box and it works but the other day i tried to save a file from the internet into a certain folder and it said i need admin right to save in that folder and it just would not let me save at all. Had to save it somewhere else then copy the file into the folder in which case the pop up box came up again to click through.

My point being is it should not do that, it's like it doesnt seem to understand that i am the administrator.

Vista and 7 don't trust you with the use of your own computer. Therefore they will not allow you to mess with the files in certain locations. I have not tried to mess with the settings that much because I keep my docs on a separate hard drive but I do know what you are talking about. Unfortunately I don't know of a way out of that but perhaps someone else does. However you should however have full access to your documents, pictures, music, downloads, etc. If you can't even put files in those folders then you do have a problem. Really do you have a need for storing any files any where else? Where specifically are you wanting to store files?

It's nothing big really. I just wondered why it came up.

I was simply trying to save a .sav file from the internet into a folder of a game that I had installed to continue from where i left off last and windows 7 pretty much told me to jog on.

Not like it was a system folder or anything, just a game.

Guess windows just asks like an overseeing parent now.
