My computer is consisting of the following:
M/B: ABIT ix48
CPU: Intel Q0550,
RAM: 4GB
O/S : windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
Graphic card: ATI Rodeon 5830
I have installed tow brand new Pioneer DVD writers as Master and Slave respectively.
The problem:
Neither of the DVDs read nor write and thing. (They function excellent on the other computers). Nither of them even when one of the is disconnected from the computer.
The two DVDs are recognized in the BIOS (Phoenix)
The two DVDs are also recognized in my computer, in the devise manager. The IDE ATA ATPI controllers are showing no problem (there are 3 ATA Channel 0 and 3 Channel 1 And 2 standard dual channel PCI IDE controller.
I have also checked the cables are they are also OK.
Any help might be greatly appreciated.

Try jumpering them for CS (Cable Select) and see if they work.
