Hi All, Hope this is the right catogorie.

Have bluetooth problems on win 7 64 laptop.

I cannot detect any bluetooth devices.
I installed BluetoothView to double check and it finds no devices despite having several nearby.

I was getting an error in device manager about bluetooth peripheral device. Solved that by following this Windows 7 Forums - View Single Post - Solved Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver

I've re-installed bluetooth drivers, rolled back to older drivers. Changed bluetooth service settings (eg automatic start, logon to local desktop). Removed everythign altogether and started again!

I then purchased a USB Bluetooth Dongle and disabled the intergrated Bluetooth. It took a while to get it to install correctly, but eventually it was installed successfully. I then tried to connect a Bluetooth mouse, but nothing was found.

I then tested the same USB Bluetooth Dongle on another PC (similar spec) and the dongle drivers installed instantly then the bluetooth mouse was found instantly.

I'm not sure what else it could be! My only option would be to perform recovery, but whilst I can easily backup my docs, its software thats an issue.

Thanks for your help!
