    Cannot connect to printer 0x0000000d

    Hi,

I have a Kodak ESP 3200 printer installed on my XP Pro server. I have enabled shared access to it.

When I try to connect to it using my Win7 Pro 64 machine, I get the error "Windows cannot connect to the printer" "operation failed with error 0x0000000d"

I've tried the sugested method I have found that is to use the following command in a DOS prompt

    net use LPT2: \\servername\printer

This allows me to print, but not to configure the printer, or connect to it in any normal way. I called Kodak and they said they don't offer any support for networking it.

I can't manually install the driver as it wont progress until plugged in by USB

    Ideas anyone?

Try adding it but specifying the IP address of your XP Pro system instead of the UNC name in the Add Printer dialog.

    \\nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn\printer

Try these steps and check if it helps:

    a. Go to start and type in cmd in the search box.

    b. Right click on cmd and select “Run as Administrator”.

    c. Type this command net use LPT# \\server\printer /persistent:yes

Substitute #, server, printer as appropriate for your network.

Then add your printer locally using the LPT# port. If your laptop has no parallel cable then use LPT1.

Go through this thread for more solutions and ideas to solve this problem. It can be helpful to you:

    Open the printer troubleshooter:

    Hi,

You need to refer the configuration page and find the necessary tips to fix the connection issues. The printer need to have a valid IP address for its proper functioning. If there is no IP address listed, or if the status shows ‘disconnected’, there may be something wrong with the network card or the cable. You need to remove and reset the network cable running into the printer. Also remove and reset the end of the cable that goes into the wall jack. If the printer still does not work, replace the cable with a new one.
