Hi James,
Now I went through the post and the screen shots... It has been really helpful with the screen shots thank you.
Now, when you select the file type in cyberlink power 2 go to rip the cd, try selecting WAV file type and save it and then try playing the video in movie maker. If this helps, its wonderful.
OR
Try copying the cd directly to the PC and then try to rip it with the file type WMA and then use movie maker to edit the movie.
Hope this helps and let us know if it didn't and we will check if there are any other options available.

Hi,
When saving as a WAV it didn't worh either
I gave up with Windows Live Movie Maker and installed the older Windows Movie Maker
This has enabled me to get my videos up on You Tube and has the capability i'll need
Thanks
James
