Small but annoying problem. The desktop icons have a large horizontal bar which take up a lot of room. I have tried many things including control panel/system/adv / display / and then check various options with not help. Any suggestions?.
Thanks
Specifying a Custom Icon Size
Step 1:Click the Start menu button. Then click on Settings, and then on Control Panel.
Step 2ouble-click the Display icon or text link. This will open a window called Display Properties.
Step 3:Click on Appearance. Click on Item, then scroll down and click on Icons.
Step 4:Change the size of the icons by adding a larger or smaller number in the Size box that appears to the right. A larger number will create a larger icon and a small number will create a smaller icon.
Step 5:Click OK if you decide to accept the resized icons and fonts.
Step 6:Click Cancel if you decide to maintain your current settings.
Using the Predefined Large Icon Size
7.Step 1:Click the Start menu button. Then click on Settings, and then on Control Panel.
8.Step 2ouble-click (click twice rapidly) on the Display icon or text link. This will open a window called Display Properties.
9.Step 3:Click on Effects.
10.Step 4:Use the Use Large Icons checkbox to indicate your viewing preference. If the box is checked, your system will display large icons. When not checked, small icons will be shown.
The Size of the ions is not a problem - it is the size of the title bar. By the way, one can easily change the size by holding ctr and shift and rotating the mouse wheel and adjust the size. See screen shot attached -note highlighted horizantal bar (Google) above picture.
Thanks
Please send the attachment again, I could not find it, and in the meanwhile can you try right clicking at an empty space on the desktop and click on view, and then click on medium icons or small icons and see if that resolved your issue...
I don't/won't run anything past XP SP2, but I imagine Win 7 is similar;
I R-Click on the Desktop (empty area), and choose Properties. (Opens Display Prop) Choose Appearance tab, then the Advanced tab (near the bottom). In the Advanced Appearance tab, click ICON under Item:. There I can set the size/font of the icon text.
