Question Windows 7 - Fresh Install Questions

Hi all, just as a few questions,

    I have bought a cheap 2nd laptop - Packard Bell Easy Notes MX37 U 40

It has windows 7 installed on it however the guy i bought it off did not have a recovery disk.

I have validated windows through microsoft so i know is genuine, but how do i check if its oem or full retail?

dependant of the OS version, can i just fresh install windows 7 and re-use the product key withought any issues?

    Windows 7 is build 7600 i think

    Thanks for your help

Doesn't the guy you bought the laptop from know how Windows 7 got there?

I couldn't find any info on that specific model, but similar models came with Vista Home Basic.

Have you looked at what is available off of the Start button (Orb)? There may be a way to create a set of recovery DVDs. If not, I would contact Packard Bell support and ask them.

Maybe someone else here can tell you if there is a way to tell if it's OEM or Retail. I know you can use Magic Jellybean Keyfinder 2.0.1 to get the current product key if you don't have it.
