    Can't format hard drive

    Hi guys, I'm trying to format my laptop, HP Pavillion dv6770se, but when I right click on the the C drive and click on format it says that I am not allowed to format it because it contains the Windows version that I am using, and tells me that I should check out the formatting disks and drives: frequently asked questions, after which suggests I should partition the drive. Is there any way I can overcome this and be able to format it so I can reinstall everything from the start? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also should note that after formatting I am going to reinstall Windows 7 again, the reason I'm doing this is because I am having some problems with it, where I get blue screens and when I perform error checking, it says that it can't run the task while it's running and asks to schedule the task to run and when I do that it says that there was an error and Windows cannot run the task, so I am hoping that by starting from scratch all these little problems will go away.

    So, how can I format my PC?

    Thanks guys,
    Mostafa.

    My PC specs are;
    Windows 7 32 Bit Home Premium
    AMD Turion 64 x2 2.1MHz
    RAM: 3.0 GB

    Hi guys, I got it sorted so no need to comment back onto this thread..

    Best way to format is to put in the Window installation CD and in the advanced setting you can format from there, worked like a charm..

    Thanks anyways.
