windows 7 64-bit and kaspersky
I've just purchased a Dell Vostra i7 860 with 6gb memory,and have installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.
The internet connection is dire. I type-in a url, and get page not found (tried IE8 32-bit, IE8 64-bit, and Chrome). Click re-try and it appears. Sometimes have to click re-try a few times.
Read a few threads elsewhere that suggested it might be Kaspersky. Any idea how I can check where the bottle-neck could be, or any suggestions of what it might be.
Thanks,
rannoch

The problem with these bloated security suites is just that - they are bloated, full of all kinds of resource hogging features you don't need.
I have migrated all my systems to Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall and have absolutely no regrets. That includes this i7 860, 64-bit Windows 7 system. MSE is certified at all the major labs and WF in Windows 7 has matured into an excellent firewall. These programs are not bloated and don't hog resources. And of course, the price is right.
I recommend you download Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), then uninstall Kaspersky. Install MSE and enable WF then see how your system performs. You can always re-install Kaspersky later.

Hi,
If you install Kaspersky Internet Security at first time, you should activate your Kaspersky product or you can only use it for One Month.
