    Can you tell me what is a mail client and how do I install it

    There is no mail client in Windows 7. You need to install one. If you used/liked Outlook Express before, click on Start and type mail. Click on Go online to get Windows Live Essentials. That is basically Outlook Express.

    There are other options too.

    Mozilla Thunderbird
    Mozilla SeaMonkey (Internet suite: Browser, E-mail, composer, IRC chat)
    Google Gmail
    Eudora
