Hello, I am currently running Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 1501... However, I feel that there is too many files on the harddrive, and uninstalling/deleting isn't doing anything. My question is, if I format the harddrive, will that give me the bulk of my space back? If so, how can I format my harddrive? I have the Windows 7 disk, but it won't boot.

And I'm locked out of my BIOS configuration (never knew the password from previous owner) so I can't change the boot order. And pressing F12 for the boot menu works, but choosing the CD/DVD drive does nothing.
