well, been off for a while..

but , i have a HP LaserJet P1005 Printer and i have the CD with me ... now i put it in .. and it says that i should not plug the usb until prompted to..

after skipping the guide ... it tells me to plug the power cable and start the printer... then click install software ... i did so .. then in the middle .. it asked to connect the USB cable .. so that then the installtion will complete .. but when i put in the cable... nothing happens

any ideas of what am i missing?

Try another port. What is your OS? If it is windows 7 are you sure that it is certified for windows 7? Is it a 64 bit OS?

another port does not work .. and i hear the sound when i plug it in so the port is not the problem ..

yea i have windows 7 and its 32 bit ... but i dont know if it is certified for windows 7 .. but the thing is .. i used to have the exact same problem installing it on my vista .. but my friend helped me out

needless to say i dont remember what he made ...

any ideas?
