Smile Windows 7 still outputs a black screen on second monitor?

I have two monitors hooked up to my computer, One is a 22" AOC monitor and the secondary is a Compaq 17" monitor. My problem is that when Windows 7 is set to turn off the display, it only turns off my main display (22" AOC) and the other one, it just sends a black screen. Is this supposed to happen, and if not, how do I fix it?

    Specs:
    EVGA Nvidia Geforce 8600GT
    4.00 GB DDR2 RAM
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Realtek HD Audio
    AMD Phenom 9100e Quad Core @ 1.81GHz

No that should not happen. What happens if you swap monitor positions?

Ok, I am trying that right now. I set my 17" as the primary and I'll see if the problem continues. I'll edit this post when I get the answer.

EDIT: Even though the monitor settings are flipped (17" as primary), the 17" still thinks it's receiving a black screen. I'm starting to suspect a graphics card issue or a Windows 7 issue. I actually do have another VGA monitor, should I try to see if that monitor receives any signal so we can rule out if the problem is the monitor or the computer?

I use a dual monitor setup with this Win7 system with no problems so I don't think it that.

And you say you "set" the 17" as the primary, when I suggested swapping, I meant to physically swap the cable to the card's connections. Trying another monitor is also an excellent idea.

Ok, I would switch the connectors, but the problem is I have a VGA and a DVI port, the VGA as the 17" and the DVI as the 22". I will try another monitor though.

A lot of cards are that way, and I really don't understand why. They can easily make one support an adapter for analog. Oh well. Maybe the 2nd, err 3rd monitor will give us a clue.

I switched the monitors and tried a TV, and a black screen is still outputting. That means that the monitors are out of the question, so what should I do next? Should I post a dxdiag?

Hmmm, don't know what to tell you. I don't think dxdiag will tell us anything. I note the lastest drivers from EVGA are dated Oct 5, 2009. Have you tried updating the drivers?

I got Windows 7 on October 22 and used Windows Update to get the current drivers, so my drivers are updated. I did notice something else wierd, I opened up a game and it always runs at 800 X 600, but I wanted to change the aspect ratio to 4:3 from 4:3 stretched. So I went into the 22in control panel and it said I was running at 1680x1050 although my settings say 800x600. I thought this was with scaling, so I went into the control panel and the Nvidia Control Panel wouldn't let me change the aspect ratio setting. If I select something and hit apply, it applies and then switches right back. This doesn't have to do with the second monitor, but it's still really strange.

It seems like Nvidia Drivers are still
