    windows 7 recovery

i will shortly be ordering windows 7 on and installing it on a new 500GB hard disc which will be easy to do. i initially installed the RC version on a 320GB hard disc and would like to format this to recover the disc for further usage. can any one suggest how this should be done?

Boot from Windows 7 DVD, and it'll do it for you.

I hope you know that 7 won't actually ship until October 22.

thank you for your quick reply, i feel that in this instance you have miss read my original thread or i have been lax in not saying it in a way my call for help could not be miss-interpreted. Please except my apologies if i have missled you.
    1) i want to install windows 7 on a new hard disc i.e. 500GB
    and
    2) reclaim my 320GB hard disc which has windows 7 RC on it so that i can use it as a slave drive.
To townsbg i would also like to say thank you for the info, i do know that windows 7 will not ship until October 22nd

There are many tools to simply format a hard drive.

    GParted is very good:

    http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

If you wish to totally wipe the drive prior to a reformat KillDisk is good:

    Cool.

Afterwords you will find the drive under Disk Management listed as unallocated.

From here you can Format it from Win 7 and it will be set for storage.
