I'm not sure yet. So far it seems to me to be just another version of vista that needs a lot of work [which I expected]. I haven't used it all that much yet. It is quite similar to Vista. I'm sad that they took out the windows switcher. Also the start up logo is cool but if I stare at it while it is booting up it starts to hurt my eyes. I also don't like how long it takes to boot up. I'll just have to decide as I use it more.

Another recent article on game performance. They compared a number of games on Win Vista and Win 7.

I don't know - comparing a pre-release version of Win7 to a final release version of Vista is little more than a curiosity, and not really fair. While disclaimers are everywhere that this is still a pre-final version, it just seems like these reviewers should stick to statistics, and not comparisons.

I also felt it was funny that people were already benchmarking a non-final version but the results was interesting to me though.

I would be very interested if they did a comparison of Win7 and WinXP and see how it stands. Then of course, WinXP does not have DX10...

Windows 7 has DX 11 so can you truly compare it to Vista?

Haha good point good point. I totally forgot about that. I remember there was a DX10 for XP project some time back but I'm not sure what happened to it.

Just to note this thread specific to the DX11

Unlike DX10 DX11 will be backwards compatible on older hardware.

Alky Project? It's been dead over a year now. I stopped caring once I got into Vista last summer.

Why not? A benchmark is a benchmark.
