    Steps in making a website?

I'm a complete newbie at this and I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask..
But I'm trying to make a flash website for photography/pictures. I saw this flash template I like and want to learn the steps before purchasing it.

I've heard from a friend that I need a site to host? and I need to buy a domain name from another site? I'm confused with everything..

Can anyone guide me through everything from step 1?

    Thanks

Well, I've been with Midphase for over 6 years and they're absolutely fabulous. Mahoosive storage (brilliant for flash sites that may be storage hungry) but more so, because their support is second to none....

If you've no experience of flash I wouldn't particularly recommend it. For a newbie I would say go wordpress... it has everything you'd need for a complete website including cms if you want to read up about it.

I used to do a completely stand alone webby til I found wordpess (which is free, including every single plug in you could ever imagine) and haven't looked back.

I would also suggest you keep your domain registration seperate from your hosting. One hears so many horror stories about folk who have their hosting with their registrar who then have been let down with their hosting having trouble getting their domain to point to the new host, or getting the domain released.

As for a domain registrar, I can only reccomend that which I know and I've had many domains through Telivo over the years without issue.

Shop around for your hosting, don't buy more than you need but ensure there's room for expansion in the future.

Tackle the Web with $5.99 .COM's from Go Daddy!
