is yours a commercial site?
I should imagine a lot of the pictures are copyrighted.
no it kind of like personal site.
what sort of pictures are you after?
have a look here http://www.pdphoto.org/index.php or google royalty free pictures
These are not free but they are extremely cheap and I find a lot of useful photos to use in projects here http://www.fotolia.co.uk
why in google i have to type "royalty"
It's one of them "English" things:
With a non-commercial site you can use most any image available on-line.A royalty is an ongoing stream of money payable to the owner of an asset for use of that asset. Most typically, it is an ongoing fee paid to a licensor for the use of intellectual property (IP) rights. A Royalty Interest is the name given to the ownership of a stream of future royalty payments, and Royalties (its singular form, 'royalty,' sometimes substituting), is the term for the payment.
People concerned with copyrights generally "stamp" their images or will certainly let you know if they have an issue with your usage.
What is "out there" is "out there" and for non-commercial use you can use most anything.
IMHO...........It's always best to ask for permission to use the photo or photos from the copy write holder. In almost all cases I've found that permission is given as long as the website you are posting them is a non commercial site and a not for commercial use site. Just a little friendly advice from an old fart who has been around the internet for a lot more years than I care to admit.![]()
what about the Screen shot i take from the game , and i use for commercial site do i still have to ask them?
This is just my opinion but if you took the screenshot during your play that image is specific to you. You will find such images all over the place.
If you are trying to use the image for some type of commercial gain then you might find some resistance.
If you just want to share the personal experience I see no problem.
