There is finally a realistic alternative to WordPress available for people writing their own blogs - it's called "PluggedOut Blog", and is a PHP/MySQL script for running any blog, diary or journal site. The script is light, fast, easy to read, easy to extend, and serves as a great example to those starting out in database driven website design.

I'll give a whopping two thumbs up for this Bloggin'Baby! When looking for a blog to integrate with my website I wanted something I could wholly manage and tweak. I found all that and MORE with Plugged Out! The programer, John Beckett is one of these lovely fellows that takes all the feedback and ideas from his users to provide new releases based on our wishlists. Not many programmers like that around are there?
